Dune, the book by Frank Herbert, is probably one of best science fiction novels ever written. Several movies and a videogame have been derived from it, but those were not so successful. The book contains one Damsel in Distress scene, when the Lady Jessica is taken prisoner by the enemy after the fall of Dune.

Here is the (adapted) excerpt from the book that describes the scene.

"Jessica felt herself lifted, she was pushed into the rear of the 'thopter, her krimskell fibre bindings examined.

Scarface took his place in front. The one they call Czigo, came around and took the other front seat. The 'thopter took off, headed south over the Shield Wall, into the desert, the domain of the giant sand worms."

Several references for the lady's position, the 'thopter and the background (adapted from a scene from the game).

woah this is an awesome image, she's drawn so very well. I absolutely love the the dark outlines and how they interact with the black parts in the background and the shadow. It has a very comic feel to it. When i saw the background from the thumbnail i got reminded of a game i was just playing yesterday "Space Quest III" the sand dune thing is played out on so many sci fi mediums :D very cool image

I remember seeing the movie "Dune" when it came out in the early 1980's, and that there was a scene where a woman got tied up and transported somewhere, although I do not remember her name. I believe her son was with her, and tied up too, but he somehow managed to escape.

Whenever Caz is in peril I rush off to her rescue!
:iconcordefr:
Yes exactly, you remember it correctly. She was captured with her son. And the escaped together, avoiding a sand worm while on the run. It's a great book, the first of a whole series, but the best.

Thanks for the praise, but let's not overdo it.
I sort of mixed two colouring styles, the thopter is a bit too naive and I kept tweaking the desert colours, because I didn't like them. :(

Very nice work and good theme, Dune the best sci-fi to be forever.

For the Harkonnen house! :evillaugh:

Jesus, glad to know there are literates among the bondage lovers.

For Shai-Hulud!

Sadly bondage lovers among the literates are even rarer.
Thanks for the fave!
